For anyone still wondering how complex the economic system is in Star Citizen, a new video from Chris Roberts and Cloud Imperium Games shows off just how nuanced it is in Star Citizen.

In the video, which you can view below, Roberts explains how simple supply and demand and lead to a chain of events that involves everyone from resource gathering merchants to resource-stealing thieves, generating “action and missions” for multiple opportunists out in the starry sea.

Star Citizen, which has been crowdfunded with reportedly well over $13 million, is set to release in late 2014. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
