Star Trek Adds Two New Vulcan Characters

We know that the new Star Trek game, being developed by Digital Extremes, will take place between Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek into Darkness. In terms of characters, we know that Kirk and Spock are playable in a cooperative capacity, and that the rest of the Enterprise crew’s cast have all reprised their roles and will be present in the game. What we did not know much about is the presence of any type of supporting characters – until now.

It was recently revealed that two Vulcan characters will be integral to the game’s narrative. One is T’Mar, a Vulcan scientist whom captains a space station and also serves as a love interest for Kirk. The other character is Surok, one of the residents of New Vulcan and Spock’s former mentor. Paramount and Digital Extremes hope that by spicing the game up with exploration and extra characters, the Star Trek experience could feel just that much more closer to genuine.

Star Trek will be published by Namco Bandai for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 23rd, 2013.
