Star Wars: Battlefront Alpha Test Requirements and Selection Clarified; No Death Star Map in the Game

Today Electronic Arts opened applications for the alpha of Star Wars Battlefront on PC, and the mail Electronic Arts sent (courtesy of Reddit user RedditRobotic) included the PC requirements for the test.

Community Manager Mathew Everett immediately clarified that those requirements are for the alpha only, and don’t apply to the final version:

“I wanted to make this fairly clear for anyone who is wondering about the min spec for Star Wars Battlefront.
The Alpha min spec requirements are for the Alpha only. These are not final and should not be taken as final. Now if you did get an Alpha invite and want to participate. You will need a system that meets the minimum requirements.”

Producer Jesper Nielsen explained that the selection process is completely random.

Nope. As been said, it’s a random selection. There’s no other reason why.

Everett also mentioned that there won’t be a map set on the Death Star in the game:

“We will not offer a Death Star based map. But stay tune for details around the maps we will offer.
All vehicles are obtained via power-ups across the battlefront. If you choose to use that power-up you spawn into the battle inside that vehicle.”
