Today, we may have received some new information about the hero roster in EA's upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II. This information was uncovered by Reddit user uninspired_zebra, who discovered a list of characters within the files of Battlefront II's currently ongoing closed alpha.

The following list of 16 characters were found within:

  • Boba Fett
  • Han Solo
  • Leia
  • Luke
  • Bossk
  • Chewbacca
  • Darth Vader
  • Emperor
  • Grievous
  • Iden
  • Kylo Ren
  • Lando
  • Maul
  • Phasma
  • Rey
  • Yoda

As you can see, the potential roster has a fair amount of characters from the original trilogy -- most of which are returning from the first Battlefront -- as well as a handful of iconic heroes and villains from the prequels. Additionally, it's cool to see the inclusion of Iden Versio -- the main character of the new Battlefront II campaign -- as well as some other notable faces from The Force Awakens and the upcoming The Last Jedi.

The one interesting thing about the above list is that Captain Phasma is listed as a playable character but Finn is not. For those who may not remember, Finn and Phasma were confirmed at EA Play as characters that would be added to Battlefront II as free DLC after the release of the game. If the rest of the list of characters is correct, then Finn's inclusion will bring the roster to a staggering 17 playable heroes.

For comparison sake, the 2015 Battlefront only had six playable characters at launch with eight more added later on through DLC. If the above list is correct, then it seems that Battlefront II will already be launching with more than the previous game ever had in its entire lifespan.

While this list of potential hero characters does seem quite plausible, keep in mind that it isn't confirmed just quite yet. EA however will surely announce more heroes in a formal sense as we continue near the game's release. Battlefront II launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17, 2017.
