The whole universe of Star Wars is full of memorable characters. A good number of those characters are the Jedi, defenders of peace and justice across the galaxy. They are considered the heroes of any situation that they are in, and very rarely do anything wrong.

The Jedi are consistent throughout the universe and are proven to be hearty and resilient against all odds. There are so many Jedi that have existed across the eras, as well as the ones that are seen in the movies, shows, and video games. This list will feature the most iconic Jedi in the known cannon universe of Star Wars.

10 Plo Koon

Jedi Master Plo Koon, a Jedi From Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Jedi Master Plo Koon was an extremely powerful and wise Jedi. He was a male of the Kel Dor species, which cannot breathe normal human air and are required to use a re-breather at all times; this helped him breathe in underwater environments as well as the vacuum of space for a short time, which no other Jedi could do.

He was the leader of The Wolf Pack, a squad of elite Clone Trooper, which was named after their Clone leader Commander Wolfe during The Clone Wars. Plo Koon was also responsible for recognizing Ahsoka Tano's Force abilities and bringing her to the Jedi Temple for training. He was also one of the best Jedi pilots in the galaxy. He was sadly killed by his own clone squadron in Revenge of the Sith during the events of Order 66.

9 Luminara Unduli

Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, From Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Jedi Master Luminara Unduli was a female member of the Mirialan species. She was also responsible for training her padawan, Barriss Offee — who later betrayed the Jedi Order — and provided some training for Padawan Ahsoka Tano as well. Luminara was a powerful Jedi warrior and was a force to be reckoned with. Her character design alone is what makes her iconic enough for this list.

She fought in many battles during The Clone Wars and fought the Sith assassin, Asajj Ventress, many times. She was thought to have survived Order 66, but it was later found out during Rebels that she was killed by Inquisitors and was being used as a trap to lure in Jedi.

8 Ezra Bridger

The Jedi Ezra Bridger From Star Wars: Rebels

Ezra Bridger is a human Jedi that was found during the reign of the Empire by another Jedi named, Kanan Jarrus. He grew up on the outer rim planet of Lothal and was discovered by Kanan and the crew of The Ghost on a mission gone wrong. He was then trained by Kanan and had to overcome his inner darkness after an encounter with the Sith, Darth Maul.

Ezra is also one of the few Jedi in the known canon that is able to actively communicate with the alien animals of the galaxy through the Force, which is what make him so iconic. He has since been missing in action since an encounter with Grand Admiral Thrawn, and his whereabouts are unknown.

7 Kanan Jarrus

The Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus From Star Wars; Rebels

Kanan Jarrus, Jedi Knight, is a human Jedi who survived Order 66. He was saved by the sacrifice of his master, Depa Billaba, and was told to run into a nearby forest. It should be noted that is real name is actually Caleb Dume, and he changed his name to further hide himself from the Empire. He trained the young Jedi, Ezra Bridger, as well as led the crew of The Ghost on many missions against the Empire before the Rebel Alliance was even formed.

Kanan was a powerful Jedi Knight who was able to hold his own against The Grand Inquisitor and Darth Maul — the latter of which blinded him with a lightsaber strike. Kanan learned how to see and fight with the Force before he sacrificed himself to save his crew, which was one of the most iconic moments in animated Star Wars.

6 Cal Kestis

The Jedi Cal Kestis From Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

No list of Jedi would be complete without this newer addition to the Star Wars Universe. He is the protagonist of Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor. Cal Kestis is another padawan who was saved by his master's sacrifice during Order 66. He is one of the few Jedi to be proficient in the use of double-bladed, single-bladed, dual-wielding lightsabers. A very iconic feat not many can accomplish.

He starts with little skills as a Jedi, but he is able to remember his former teaching and hold his own against several Inquisitors, as well as surviving an encounter with Darth Vader himself. Cal is one of the few Jedi to actively use the Force to slow down and even stop his adversaries.

5 Ahsoka Tano

Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano From Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Ahsoka Tano is a female member of the Togruta species and the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. She was discovered by Plo Koon and was brought to the Jedi Temple at a very young age. She learned from Anakin and was a member of the Jedi Order until her best friend, Barriss Offee, betrayed her and framed her for a crime. Furthermore, she was welcomed back when her name was cleared, but she chose not to rejoin the Jedi Order.

Ahsoka survived Order 66 by technically not being a Jedi anymore and being helped by the clone Captain Rex. She has had several other appearances in Rebels as well as The Mandalorian. Ahsoka Tano is one of the most powerful and iconic Force users to have existed, surviving and winning duels with Darth Maul, Count Dooku, and Darth Vader.

4 Mace Windu

The Jedi Master Mace Windu From Star Wars, Episode 3

Jedi Master Mace Windu is one of the most powerful Jedi to have ever existed. He was the only Jedi to survive fighting Darth Sidious, only to be thwarted by Anakin and thrown out of a window. Mace is the only Jedi to ever wield a purple bladed lightsaber in the films, and is immediately recognizable and iconic because of this.

He fought in many battles during The Clone Wars, as well as fighting toe-to-toe with the likes of Count Dooku and General Grievous. Some fans think that he was able to survive the fall from the window in Episode 3 and could show up in a later film or TV show, but that has yet to manifest.

3 Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi

Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi From Star Wars Episode 3

Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is another very powerful Jedi. He studied under Qui-gon Jinn and was responsible for training Anakin Skywalker. He participated in many battles during The Clone Wars and fought his enemy, Darth Maul, several times. There are no more iconic adversaries than Maul and Kenobi.

Obi-Wan was also semi-responsible for creating Darth Vader. In his later years, he also was partially responsible for training Luke Skywalker, along with Yoda. Obi-Wan's show on Disney Plus further developed his story, adding new details detailing what he was up to between the events of Episode 3 and Episode 4.

2 Yoda

Yoda From Star Wars On The Planet Dagobah

Yoda is a close second for most iconic Jedi. Nobody knows the name of his species or where they come from. He was responsible for training Count Dooku while he was still a Jedi. Yoda also trained many Younglings over his 800-year life, most notably Luke Skywalker near the end of his life.

He also had a specially designed lightsaber made for his small hands. He was even friends with Chewbacca before Han Solo met him. The way Yoda looks in either puppet or CGI form makes him one of the most recognizable characters in all of Star Wars.

1 Luke Skywalker

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker From Star Wars, Episode 6

Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is one of the most recognizable characters and the best example of the Jedi in Star Wars. He grew up on the desert planet of Tatooine and joined up with Ben Kenobi and Han Solo to go start a fight with the Empire and eventually join the Rebel Alliance.

Luke had amazing character development through the original three movies he was a part of, from learning the ways of the Force, confronting his own inner darkness, to turning Darth Vader back to the Light. He later started his own Jedi Temple where he would try to teach a new generation of Jedi alongside his sister and The New Republic. Luke Skywalker is the ultimate example of what a Jedi should be, and he is the most iconic Jedi to exist.
