One of the most surprising announcements at The Game Awards was Star Wars Eclipse.

While we had earlier talked about the game and mentioned that it is under development for eighteen months now, it was expected that the project is still a while away from launch. The speculations became even more believable when Quantic Dream's Twitter liked a tweet about the possible release of the title. While it unliked it later on, that all but confirmed the existence of the game.

Star Wars Eclipse Reportedly Inspired By The Last of Us As Per Leak

While the announcement was made at The Game Awards yesterday, some interesting details about the game have surfaced today. This leak comes from Twitter user AccNGT, and while one might wonder about the reliability of the source, it seems quite trustworthy for a number of reasons, but we will talk about the leak first.

The leak states that Quantic Dream Paris is working on the creative stuff, while the Montreal division is working on level design, gameplay, and other multiplayer aspects. Their goal is to make sure that the narrative and action sequences are memorable and leave a mark. More importantly, the game is inspired by The Last of Us.

The Last of Us franchise has been known for setting a benchmark for narrative in the gaming industry. It refutes some of the classic tropes and takes some bold choices throughout the course of the game. Considering how well the formula has worked for TLOU, it makes sense for Star Wars to get inspired from the same.

But is the source legit? Well, it couldn't get more legit than this if you consider the account's history. The account had posted a picture from the trailer one week ago, and it went under the radar. In fact, we didn't even know whether the game will be showcased at TGA when the account straight up dropped a picture from the trailer. In that perspective, its safe to say that this is quite believable.
