While Episode I: The Phantom Menace holds an infamous place in the hearts of Star Wars fans, at least some good came out of it from the fantastically fun racing game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, and now the game is getting a second chance for players to enjoy on PC today.
In honor of Star Wars Day (aka “May the Fourth Be With You”), online retailer GOG has announced that Star Wars Episode I: Racer is now available to purchase exclusively through the retailer’s digital store. The game itself will retail for $9.99, though the game is currently available at a 15% discount to commemorate its launch on the platform.
Alongside the release of Episode I: Racer, GOG is also hosting its annual May the Fourth Be With You sale on Star Wars games, including numerous classics from the franchise like Star Wars: Battlefront II (the original 2005 release), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D, and many, many others.
Episode I: Racer first released back in 1999 on PC and Nintendo 64, with later iterations of the game arriving on Game Boy Color, Mac, and Dreamcast, making its re-release nearly 20 years later on modern PCs definitely worth celebrating.
