Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been out for a few weeks now and according to publisher Electronic Arts, the game has had a fairly strong start.

EA announced today that within its launch window, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has become the best-selling Star Wars game to date when it comes to digital sales. Furthermore, it has also become the publisher's fastest-selling Star Wars game on PC within this period, too. EA's return to selling games on Valve's Steam platform surely was a big reason why Fallen Order was able to reach this milestone.

"On behalf of Respawn and EA, we thank everyone for their support of the studio and the team throughout the development and launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order," said Respawn's Vince Zampella. "Telling a story in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true and the reception from the fans has been incredible."

It's worth noting that EA is definitely putting a certain PR spin on things here with this announcement. Clearly, overall sales for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order didn't eclipse the total sold in the launch window of either Star Wars Battlefront or Star Wars Battlefront II, otherwise the publisher surely would've said so. When taking physical sales into account, the former games likely had stronger launches overall. Still, with how much more prominent digital sales have continued to become in recent years, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order setting a new sales milestone here for EA does indicate that the game is clearly getting out of the gate on the right foot.

EA has previously said that it hopes to ship between 6 and 8 million copies of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order before the end of March 2020. We'll have to wait a few more months though to likely get some more firm numbers to know if that goal is feasible.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you haven't done so already, you can read our review for the game right here.
