Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Timed Early Access Not Coming to EA Access
There may no be a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order timed early access period, but you'll get some skins for your ship and robot friend instead!
One of the big benefits of being an EA Access member is the timed early access period (a.k.a. Play First Trial) for the publisher’s new games. With Respawn’s single-player Star Wars game arguably being EA’s biggest game of the year, surely, it would be part of this service. Unfortunately, the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order timed early access will not be available for members this week.
We’ve opted not to have early/timed access (Play First Trial), in part to reduce the risk of spoilers. Instead, EA Access members get these exclusive cosmetics!https://t.co/UQ1ZKzOvnh pic.twitter.com/tRV7rQjnQb

Announced on the official EA Access Twitter account, the publisher has opted not to have a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order timed early access period. According to the tweet, this is “in part” to avoid spoilers from making its way to the internet. The other “part” of this reasoning is unknown. However, if you are an EA Access member, you will still receive the typical 10% discount, as well as exclusive skins. You can check out these skins below, which definitely gives me some Titanfall vibes.
People seem to be pretty upset about the decision to not have an early access period for the game if replies to the tweet above are indicative of the general public. Some people are simply disappointed because they get the EA Access service for this perk. Others believe the “real” excuse is because the game is barely 10 hours long and is bad. Here are a few replies to the tweet:
But u wanted to spoil Anthem and NFS Heat and Battlefield 1 and 5 and Mass Effect Andromeda….nice excuse EA Access

Lmfao was looking forward to the 10 hour trial to try out the game. Looks like no reason to have ea access anymore. If you start this now that means future games will follow suit. And after anthem y’all can’t be trusted.

That screams to me the game is barely 10 hours long and we don’t want to expose ourselves 😂😂😂

While some people’s expectations may have been diminished because of this decision, EA has set a high bar for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. During a recent financial call, EA CFO Blake Jorgenson said the publisher expects the game to ship between six and eight million units by March 2020.
