A hotly anticipated title set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has plenty of fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation for its release, but new rumors originating from EA's fiscal reports are again calling into question just how long we'll have to wait to get our hands on the title.

As several agencies, including IGN, are reporting, a quarterly report slideshow from the software giant is indicating the expected release of a "Major IP" during the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year. That would place this game's release date sometime between January 1 and March 31, 2023. And while the fourth-quarter section of the report indicates several other titles by name, including Dead Space, Wild Hearts, and PGA Tour, the Star Wars title is nowhere to be seen, by name at least.

If this "Major IP" game does indeed turn out to be Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, that would place its release in January at the earliest, which lends credence to a report from journalist Jeff Grubb late last month that indicated marketing for the game would start in December and we'd be able to play it by March, most likely. This news followed a leak from July that claimed the game would be available as early as February 2023 but would probably release the month after. The game's official teaser trailer was released back in May.

The action-adventure Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a sequel to EA's previous hit, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was nominated for Best Action/Adventure Game at The Game Awards in 2020, losing out to The Last of Us Part II. It is the first of three major upcoming games from the Star Wars brand, with both a shooter and a strategy title on the horizon in the near future.

While the general consensus seems to be that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the mystery game listed in EA's reports, some outlets have suggested other dark-horse possibilities. Polygon noted that EA's extreme sports title Skate still has no planned release date, although reports over the summer had indicated that game was still very early in its developmental stage, and it's questionable whether Skate would qualify as enough of a "Major IP" to keep it that far under wraps.

Regardless of when it releases, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
