Embracer Group, the parent company responsible for the development and publishing of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, has refused to provide any new update on the current state of the project in a recent investors call, putting doubt on the development status of the game.

As reported by Stephen Totilo, when CEO of Embracer Group Lars Wingefors was asked about a new update on the game he refused to provide any meaningful answer. "[My] favorite question," said Wingefors. "I have no further comments."

Clearly, this doesn't sound good for an anticipated project. Only a few months after its official announcement during a PlayStation showcase, the speculation around the rough development process of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake went viral, which eventually resulted in the transition of the project from Aspyr to Saber Interactive.

But even that change doesn't seem to be working out regarding the recent reaction of Wingefors. While players were hoping to get new information on the game via yesterday's PlayStation Showcase, that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is supposed to launch as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive. All we have seen from the game so far was a brief teaser trailer back in 2022. As a result, there is no clear insight into the project for the public at the moment. Although there are multiple Star Wars projects already in the works at different studios, the remake of one of the most beloved MMO titles set in the Star Wars universe isn't ignorable at all.

In other news from Embracer Group, the company revealed it was recently informed that a partnership worthy of $2 million has fallen through, which has resulted in the company cutting down its previous revenue forecast. So, it is safe to say that it was quite a bad day for the owner of IPs such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Borderlands, and more.
