Electronic Arts just announced a reveal trailer for Star Wars Squadrons will premiere on Monday, June 15.

The announcement comes from the EA Star Wars Twitter page. The first glimpse of Star Wars Squadrons will be on Monday, June 15 at 8:00 am PT. A link to the game's YouTube reveal is also provided allowing you to set a reminder in case you forget next week.

There really isn't much known about Star Wars Squadrons. However, the tweet says, "Pilots Wanted," with the key art featuring pilots from both the Rebellion and Imperials. If I were a betting man (which I'm not), I would guess this is a ship-based combat game in the same vein as the Rogue Squadron series.

This announcement just comes moments after the game leaked on the Microsoft Store. While the header said you could pre-order now, the hyperlink leads to a non-existing page.

Back in March, a game called Star Wars: Project Maverick appeared on the PSN store. Since then, details on the mysterious project have yet to be unearthed. It is possible this is that project.

Personally, this is probably my most anticipated game of the year. Yes, more than The Last of Us Part II. Yes, more than Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, even more than Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. I absolutely love the Rogue Squadron games. If this is just a current/next-generation version of that type of game, I am all in.

The key art for Star Wars Squadrons is pretty interesting. It puts both the Rebels and Empire upfront. If this is a Rogue Squadron-like game, I wonder if there will be missions where you'll play the role of a TIE pilot. Also, I wonder if there is a deathmatch-style multiplayer mode.

Platforms and a release date have yet to be revealed for Star Wars Squadrons. But we will know in just a few more days.
