Star Wars: The Old Republic – The Battle of the Previews Comes Tomorrow to Warm your Thanksgiving

on November 23, 2011 1:00 PM

Last week Chad and I published our Battle of the Screenshots, showing you the beta of Star Wars: The Old Republic from the points of view of an Imperial Sith Warrior and a Republic Smuggler. Our battle hasn’t ended yet, as our full previews of the game still have to come. And they will come soon. In exactly 24 hours (tomorrow, November the 24th, at 1 PM EST) both of us will share our thoughts and findings on one of the most awaited games of 2011.

We decided to write two separate previews for several reasons. Mainly the game offers two very different experiences and a different atmosphere depending on the side you chose. On top of that, Chad and I are very different MMORPG gamers, and have very different views on what divides a good game from a mediocre one. Let’s just say that he’s a long standing WoW player, while I tried it for a while and then quit with absolute disdain never to look back.

Did Star Wars: The Old Republic manage to please both of us, or maybe we’ll fight our Battle of the Previews to the bitter end? Will Chad Solo win, or maybe Darth Giuseppe (yes, my name was never meant to be a Sith name, I guess) will bring the galaxy under the seductive grasp of the Dark Side? You will know tomorrow, as long as the picture above didn’t make your stomach explode with excessive laughter.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
