Today, Swedish-based publisher and developer Starbreeze -- who you may recognize from Dead by Daylight, PAYDAY  2, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, and more -- released its financial results for Q1 2017.

For the first quarter net revenue rose 40% compared to the first quarter of 2016. Apparently, Starbreeze Publishing and Dead by Daylight were major contributors to the increase.

Meanwhile, Starbreeze confirmed that PAYDAY 2 is still its biggest source of revenue. And because the game has repaid its investment several times, Starbreeze has decided to update the game for another year, completely free for players.

The publisher and developer also mentioned that it is almost done building the three parallel teams that will create more PAYDAY content and get OVERKILL's The Walking Dead and Crossfire ready for fans. The aforementioned recently was delayed to the second half of 2018. According to Starbreeze it has more than 80 developers working on the Walking Dead project.

Notably, it was also revealed that Starbreeze is skipping E3 this year, with the resources that normally go into E3 going into the recent Starstream that took place on May 10th.
