The trilogy of StarCraft II‘s epic campaign finally reached its conclusion last November with the release of Legacy of the Void, though players of the classic RTS can expect a bit more from the game in a series of standalone missions coming later this month with the fan-favorite Ghost, Nova, in a brand new story.
Blizzard has announced that first of the “Nova Covert Ops,” a trio of standalone story missions starring StarCraft‘s Nova Terra, will be releasing on March 29th, 2016. The first pack will offer the beginning of the three-episode story arc, and will be a completely standalone experience that doesn’t require players to own previous editions of StarCraft II, such as the base game or its expansions, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void.
Blizzard also added that the Nova Covert Ops missions will also bring some new mechanics and gameplay in addition to the brand new story – pre-orders for the complete package are available now at a discounted rate of $14.99 (reg. $22.47), while players that pre-order will also get a covert ops skin for the Ghost unit in StarCraft II.
StarCraft II‘s “Nova Covert Ops” missions will debut on March 29th, 2016 with the first installment of the three-episode series.
