Last Monday, indie masterpiece Stardew Valley received its biggest ever update. While the update initially only released on PC, developer ConcernedApe has shared some exciting information for console players who, by the looks of things, won't have to wait too much longer. In a tweet, ConcernedApe said:

The 1.5 update will be coming to consoles early next year. It's possible it could be ready by the end of January but I can't guarantee that yet. Mobile has no release estimate yet.

The recent update was a huge one and contained hundreds of new items, quality of life changes, quests, crops, animals and so, so much more. One of the biggest changes gives players the opportunity to start life on a beach farm. This new farm offers a welcome change of scenery alongside its own set of challenges.

Version 1.5 also adds a whole new explorable island to Stardew Valley. This area alone adds a range of new NPC's, events, puzzles as well as a new volcano dungeon area, complete with an array of new enemies.

The new update also introduces a range of changes to the multiplayer aspects of the game. The most welcome of these is the split-screen mode, allowing many more hours of fun with a friend or partner.

Stardew Valley is available on mobile devices, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, PS Vita, Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X right now. You can check out the extensive list of changes in the 1.5 update right here.
