Initially released in 2016, Stardew Valley has since come to a variety of other platforms and has continually been supported by the game's developer, ConcernedApe. After years of hard work on the title though, it seems ConcernedApe is beginning to work on entirely new projects now, although these future games might still be related to Stardew Valley.Over on Twitter recently, ConcernedApe responded to a fan's inquiry about whether or not the developer might be creating another title in the Stardew Valley world. ConcernedApe responded, saying that he currently has "a couple of new projects" that are being worked on. "One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I'm not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way," ConcernedApe confirmed.

While ConcernedApe definitely has a few new projects in the works, it doesn't seem like leaving the Stardew universe is something that will be happening any time soon. That said, as ConcernedApe makes clear, neither of these games seem to be actual sequels to Stardew Valley, especially given that one of them doesn't even involve farming.

After ConcernedApe made this comment on Twitter, they then replied a few hours later imploring fans not to get too excited just now. Whatever might be in the works right now, it still seems to be quite early. "I'd like to just make whatever game comes naturally to me without too much pressure or expectation," ConcernedApe made clear. "I'm not setting out to make the next indie smash hit, I just want to make another game that I enjoy and am happy with. And to share some of my art & ideas with the world. If it becomes popular, I will be happy, but it's not my focus."

It will likely be awhile longer until we see what might come next in the world of Stardew Valley, but if a follow-up project from ConcernedApe ends up being half as popular as their last one, they'll surely be quite pleased.
