Stardew Valley Fans Recreate Beloved Pelican Town in Minecraft
Inspired by the iconic farming sim, one YouTuber took to recreating Stardew Valley‘s Pelican Town in Minecraft survival mode.
Stardew Valley is one of the greatest farming sims out there, and what better way to pay tribute than to recreate its familiar locations in another game? YouTuber Unsurpassable Z – or Zach Hartman – took to combining the two in his Minecraft community server, where he and his father crafted a Minecraft version of Pelican Town.
MINECRAFT PELICAN TOWN
In their video, Hartman and his father explore the shared Minecraft server where they completed their version of Pelican Town. Working in Survival mode for their 1:1 scale recreation, the overall project has taken roughly nine months. Though, the two are still adding some final touches, like filled bottles to mimic Gus’s full shelves in the Saloon.
From the Stardrop Saloon to Pierre’s General Store Stardew Valley‘s buildings keep to the rustic, yet modern style. And, in true video game fashion, the buildings are bigger on the inside than they appear on the outside. This led to some interesting design challenges when it came to Hartman’s 1:1 recreation of Pelican Town.
Their clever solution? Build the interior of the town’s homes and shops underground. This way, the overall outside map of their Minecraft Pelican Town stays exactly like Stardew‘s, but still includes all the charming and familiar rooms from the game.
Looking at the rest of the server, they’ve also recreated the forested areas surrounding Pelican Town, the beachside cliffs, the Wizard’s tower, and the entrance to Krobus’s sewer. To see an earlier look for Hartman’s project, you can look to this stream on his YouTube channel.
