If you've ever been knocked out in Stardew Valley's Skull Caverns, you know it's good to have a doctor on your side. Thankfully, Pelican Town's resident sawbones, Harvey, is extremely reliable. He'll patch up anyone who wanders into his clinic, day or night, for an extremely reasonable fee. In fact, the only thing better than having such a diligent doctor around is having him live with you, in your house.

A man of simple pleasures, Harvey enjoys the finer things in life. When he's not treating patients, he sits back with his black coffee, his jazz, and maybe a bottle of wine. For those looking to marry Harvey, to befriend him, or simply experience his cute Heart Events, our guide has everything you need to know. Let's get started!

Harvey's Schedule

Compared to other villagers, Harvey's schedule is actually pretty simple. He spends a lot of time working in his clinic, so he's generally easy to find. When he's not working, he can usually be found in his apartment, which is above the clinic.

Harvey usually wakes up around 7 to 8am. On Tuesdays & Thursdays, he spends his workday in the clinic's exam room while Maru runs the front desk. On these days, he heads back upstairs around 6pm. On Mondays, Wednesdays, & Sundays, he works the front desk himself, making his way downstairs around 8:30am. On Fridays, he leaves work at noon and heads next door to Pierre's General Store. He returns home around 3pm.

Harvey takes Saturdays off, and spends them visiting the Museum. On these days, he leaves at 8:30am and returns around 3pm.

There are a few exceptions to this schedule. If it's raining, Harvey will always work the Clinic's front desk until around 12pm. He then spends a few hours in his room. At 5:30pm, he heads to the Stardrop Saloon. At 10pm, he returns home. On Winter 15, he leaves to attend the Night Market around 5pm. After the Beach Resort is unlocked, he may also randomly decide to go there at any time.

Thankfully, Harvey's schedule is consistent between seasons, so there's no need to make special considerations. He follows the same routine all year long.

Best Gifts For Harvey

Harvey is kind of a picky eater. He turns his nose up at a number of sickly sweet foods, including cookies, cakes, and ice cream. He also dislikes bread, cheese, and pizza, among other food items. He usually likes foraged goods, but there are a few things he's allergic to, and these should be avoided at all costs. These include Coral, Nautilus Shells, Rainbow Shells, Salmonberry, and Spice Berry.

Harvey's Heart Events

Harvey in Stardew Valley saying "I may not be the most exciting guy, but I'll stay loyal to you for the rest of my life."

At two Hearts, enter George and Evelyn's house while George is there to trigger Harvey's first Heart Event. In this event, Harvey is performing a routine check up on George. Encouraging George to follow Harvey's advice will net a bonus of +40 friendship with Harvey. Saying "George knows what's best for his body" has the opposite effect; -40 friendship with Harvey. George's friendship level will not be affected.

At four Hearts, enter the Clinic while Harvey is there. Harvey will give you a quick check up, and notices your pulse seems high. Saying "Are you really a doctor? My pulse is fine!" results in a penalty of -50 friendship with Harvey. The other two options both give a small bonus (+20 friendship).

At six Hearts, enter Pierre's General Store on any day between 11am and 3pm for Harvey's third Heart Event. You'll witness Harvey doing something some might consider very embarrassing. Promising to keep it a secret will reward you with +20 friendship. Saying "I can't promise that" will penalize you with -50 friendship.

At eight Hearts, enter the Clinic at any time to trigger a fourth Heart Event. This event leads to a cute, charming conclusion to Harvey's storyline. From now on, no dialogue options with Harvey will have any effect on friendship. Therefore, we won't spoil the content of his last few events.

At ten Hearts, you'll receive a letter from Harvey where he asks to meet at the railroad tracks. Simply go there between 9am and 5pm to trigger his fifth Heart Event.

If you're married to Harvey, at fourteen Hearts, you can trigger yet another Heart Event. To do this, simply enter an upgraded farmhouse between 8pm and midnight on any day.
