As one of the highly anticipated titles of 2023, fans do want to know more about Starfield, and the developers are well aware of it, which is the reason behind a new Starfield Q&A video that answers some community questions about quests.

The lead quest designer behind Starfield Will Shen sat down with the community director of Bethesda recently to answer some questions relating to his department.

When asked about the scope and improvement of random encounters in Starfield compared to previous Bethesda titles, Shen confirmed that you can expect encounters as big as a whole new settlement on a planet. These random encounters could lead to some dynamic missions and quests where you might be asked for doing strangers a favor.

Furthermore, Shen revealed that players will return to our own solar system earlier in the game to investigate what happened to Earth. Players will travel to Earth and Mars, meeting in a new settlement at the latter with their own problems.

When asked about how many factions players can join in Starfield, Shen didn't provide a firm answer, making it clear that you can have relationships with multiple factions, but it will have consequences for both the player and the destiny of the factions as well.

Going over the companions, Shen explained that you will have companions who can take care of some missions for you or speak on behalf of the player, but letting them do such things for you could have either good or bad consequences for the player.

The decisions you make in the game play a big role in the way the story progresses. There are some quests where you will get to decide on the fate of the characters, like who lives and who dies. Also, NPCs will react to the player differently depending on the outcome of the quests and the player's decisions.

Overall, it seems like Starfield could be the most dynamic experience Bethesda has ever made, with everything in the game trying to adapt itself to the player's decisions, leading to good or bad consequences for the player.
