Starfire Joins the Injustice 2 Roster Today, For Some at Least

Today, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios added the latest (and third) Injustice 2 DLC character…well, at least for some.

Known for her membership to the Teen Titans, the ultraviolet wielding heroine Starfire is now available for players who either purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, the Injustice 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, the Injustice 2 Ultimate Packor Fighter Pack #1. Aka, if you gave NetherRealm and Warner Bros. some extra money at some point for Injustice 2, the celestial projectile unleashing heroine is now featuring in your roster. If you only purchased the game’s lonely ol’ standard edition and nothing else: well, no Starfire for you. At least not yet — as presumably she will be released as a standalone character for purchase sometime in the future.

For those that don’t know: Starfire debutedback in October 1980 in a preview story inserted within DC Comics Presents. Named Koriand’r, she is a princess of the fictional planet Tamaran in the Vegan system, and was in line to rule the planet as Queen. Thanks to a heated rivalry with her older sister Blackfire and a series of events following as a result, Starfire eventually finds herself fleeing her planet and ends up on earth where she meets Robin and forms the Teen Titans.

Starfire is notably the third character included in the Fighter Pack 1, which has already seen the release of Red Hood and Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero.

Injustice 2 is available on PS4 and Xbox One.

In other recent and related news, Time Warner announced last week that Injustice 2 was the highest-grossing console game in Q2 2017.
