Today, developer Undead Labs announced that it will announce State of Decay 2’s release date, along with gameplay, systems, and much more, at E3 2017 in June.
The news comes from Undead Labs Founder Jeff Strain, and his recent blog post:
“Plenty of people have asked us to give the community the gift of the SOD2 release date. We can’t do that just yet, but here’s what we can tell you: The release date will be revealed, along with gameplay, systems, and so much more, at E3 2017. So pace yourselves, mark your calendars, and get ready to party with us this June.”
As of right now, we don’t know much about the four player zombie survival co-op game, other than that it’s substantially larger, and has a “faded Americana look.”
Other than that, we know the game is confirmed for 2017 (Strain reassured that is still the case in the new blog post), but news of a specific date won’t come until E3. As of right now, it is confirmed for Xbox One and PC, and will be a Xbox Play Anywhere games.
Strain concluded the blog post with the following message to fans in regards to the studio’s quiet streak since it released the previous game in 2013:
“I’m happy to tell you those quiet years are at an end. Huge wheels are in motion, and I can assure you 2017 is going to be a very exciting year to be a State of Decay fan.”
