State of Decay’s “Breakdown” DLC Planning to Release on Xbox 360 Later in October

State of Decay became quite a surprise hit on Xbox 360 in becoming one of the fastest-selling XBLA titles and just recently hitting over one million units sold, and fans are chomping at the bit to get more of the game (please excuse the intentional zombie pun).

Luckily, State of Decay‘s developer Undead Labs has more in store for brave zombie killers with their upcoming DLC for the game, “Breakdown,” which is planned for release by the end of the October, “assuming no catastrophes,” writes founder Jeff Smith in an update from the studio on their site. After finishing development on the DLC, the studio is expecting to submit the new content to Microsoft for certification by next week for release by the end of October, if all goes according to plan.

With new features including “permadeath” gameplay where players try to see how long they can outlast the zombie apocalypse, “Breakdown” will offer more freedom and challenge where players can simply try to see how long they can really survive, as zombies grow in increasing hordes and supplies become more scarce.

Curious to see how long you can last in the “Breakdown”? Hopefully before the end of October, you’ll get to find out.
