The Steam Autumn Sale has some solid deals on video games. Titles like Gears 5, Cities Skylines, and Resident Evil 2 Remake are heavily discounted making some of the most recent games the most affordable they have ever been. You probably already knew that though. But did you know the sales event also puts a heavy discount on the Steam Controller?

That is right. The Steam Controller is on sale right now for $5 on Steam. Obviously, this price doesn't include shipping. However, when I added the controller to my shopping cart, the estimated total with shipping included is $12.99. That's a pretty solid deal considering the controller's list price is $49.99.

So, why is the Steam Controller available at such a low price? Unfortunately, the steep discount is due to the product getting discontinued. The controller released alongside the Steam Machine, which was Valve's way of attempting to bring a PC-level experience in the form of a traditional console. As you may have guessed, it didn't go too well. The Steam Controller seemed to have a bit of a wider audience though, with much of its reviews on the digital storefront being positive.

Since this is a closeout sale, there are limited quantities of the Steam Controller. So, if you want one, you might want to claim one as soon as possible. Additionally, if you do end up purchasing the accessory, it is estimated to take 4-8 business days to deliver. This is due to the amount of new orders Valve expects to receive. This deal is available from now until December 3.

This isn't the first time Valve decided to discontinue one of its accessories. The Steam Link, which also launched alongside the Steam Controller and Steam Machine, was discontinued last year. It also received incredibly steep discounts. At one point, the price went as low as $2.50.
