SteamWorld Heist for Xbox One and Android is on an Indefinite Hiatus

SteamWorld Heist won’t be coming to Xbox One or Android devices anytime soon, according to developers Image & Form. In a pre-Thanksgiving dev blog, the European studio announced that the strategy game (which has previously released on iOS, Nintendo 3DS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U) will not be continuing development on Android devices and Xbox One.

According to the developer, the decision was made in order to prioritize development for Image & Form’s next game — which is, at this time, still unannounced.

However, it seems like the developers have clarified that their current development for Nintendo Switch will be their new game — not a port of either SteamWorld Dig or SteamWorld Heist. In the blog, they are heavily suggesting an update with an official announcement will be coming up soon on their social media accounts.

Additionally, SteamWorld Heist doesn’t have any plans for big content updates. Even though they are “not ruling out the possibility” it would be unlikely to see more content for the game.

SteamWorld Heist originally released on December 10, 2015 on Nintendo 3DS before coming to the above-named platforms. DualShockers reviewed SteamWorld Heist noting “hardcore turn-based strategy fans should be able to enjoy the interesting setting, light-hearted humor and graduated difficulty modes”
