It seems that games based around biker gangs are all the rage this season. Hot of the heels of the recent launch for the long-awaited Road Redemption comes Tate Multimedia's multi-award winning Steel Rats for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The trailer begins with a darkened noir-like street as a series of heavy circuitry climbs lampposts and embeds itself in parked cars that line the edge of the road. We soon discover that this is stemming a junk robot which is part of an alien invasion. A single headlight can be seen in the distance as a biker named Lisa accelerates towards the robot at full speed, crashing into it and heavily damaging it. Lisa is then joined by her three comrades James, Toshi, and Randy as they team up to destroy the machine.

The video then cuts to gameplay footage as we see the title's unique blend of stunts and combat. The 2.5D action shows the bikers sawing up enemies with their motorcycle's front wheels, whipping them with their back wheels, and using chains to close in on their foes with ease.

We also get a glimpse of the game's platforming segments as the upgradable bikers cross gaps, ride along ceilings, and use a turbo-style dash to avoid oncoming trains.

Steel Rats is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep an eye on DualShockers for our upcoming review of the game.
