After being revealed last summer, Insomniac Games and Oculus have today announced when fans can expect to finally play Stormland for themselves.Announced during the Oculus Connect keynote today, Stormland is now set to release later this year on November 14. The game will retail for $39.99 and is set to launch on Oculus Rift devices only. Pre-orders are also available via the Oculus store as of today.

If you're unfamiliar with Stormland, it places you in the shoes of a robotic explorer. The game offers a semi-open world to explore and also will allow you to play in co-op with a friend. Additionally, Stormland will see frequent updates in the form of weekly challenges and other missions that will let you continue to level up and return to the game frequently.

I got to check out Stormland last year at PAX and came away extremely impressed with it. The feel of movement and combat that it offers is something that many have been asking for out of virtual reality games for quite some time. Plus, it lets you tackle situations in any way that you may see fit. If you've been waiting for a higher-quality, AAA experience in VR, this seems like it has the potential to be just that.

Ahead of release, you can check out the new gameplay footage from Stormland attached in the tweet above.
