A brand new open world sci-fi project for Oculus Rift was teased by Insomniac Games and Oculus Studios last week. Today, they officially unveiled the game, which is titled Stormland.

With Stormland, the game's developers are trying to bring the traditional structure of first-person open world games into VR. Players control a android gardener from an alien planet whose body is destroyed by something called The Tempest at the beginning of the game.

After that happens, players must set out on a journey, freeing other robots and upgrading themselves along the way. Movement controls are very dynamic; players will be able to glide and fly through slipstreams and can easily scale large cliffs.

When it comes to combat, players will have access to a variety of explosives, can create makeshift weapons, and even harness electricity in order to gain an edge in battle. Stormland will include both single-player and multiplayer, adding to the game's lofty ambitions.
