Ubisoft's upcoming sci-fi epic Starlink: Battle for Atlas is shaping up to be a dramatic, story-driven experience and the latest trailer is really upping the ante.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas was originally announced during Ubisoft's conference at E3 earlier this year bringing toys and gaming together in a similar fashion to that of the Skylanders franchise by using interchangeable and customizable pieces. The latest trailer takes us to the depths of space where evil leader Grax and his robotic army known as the Forgotten Legion plan to harvest an energy source called Nova. In order to achieve this, his minions attack the crew of the Equinox and kidnap their sergeant in an attempt to learn how Nova is created.

From there, the crew is plunged into a series of high speed space battles where they must fend off the Forgotten Legion and save Atlas from its clutches. We see a number of small ships launched into space and engaging in intergalactic firefights in their incoming aggressors head-on. We are also treated to wide shots of the games gorgeous interplanetary scenery along some of the landscapes that will be on offer.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is due for release on October 16, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Switch edition will also feature Star Fox's main protagonist Fox McCloud.
