As you cat-parkour your way through the game, platforming and solving puzzles, you may come across a roadblock. One such roadblock is the various locked safes and doors that need an access code to get into. While there are five codes in total, only two of them are vital to the story. It'll take a bit of exploration to find each code, though some are a little trickier to find than others.

The Flat Door Code

Stray, the Flat Door Code location

One of the first barriers you come across is a locked door at the end of a dark hallway. Your new drone friend leads you to a keypad that needs an access code. Before this door is an opening to a very dark room. Turn on the drone's flashlight to illuminate it. On the left, a whiteboard sits atop a shelf with bottles obscuring some red text.

If you continue down this street and take another left, there will be a safe in a pile of trash with a note on it. This note needs to be deciphered by Elliot. You'll need to scratch the door of Elliot Programming in order for someone to let you in.

Midtown Safe Code

Midtown Safe Code walkthrough, Stray

In Chapter 10, upon entering Midtown, head over to the second shop on the right. There, you'll find a hidden safe in the top left corner of the room on top of some shelves. You won't have to look too far for the code as it's in the same room.

The translation reads "2458:edoC". It should be obvious that the text is written backward. Reverse the text, and you'll get "Code: 8542." Enter those four digits in the correct order, 8542, and you'll open the safe. The reward for opening this code is a Cat Badge collectible.
