Capcom has announced that in addition to the release of Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector's Set on September 18th that they will be kicking off its global tournament in Austin,TX the weekend of July 28th to July 29th.

The tournment features free to enter qualifying round with a refundable $20 fee to reserve a spot in the battle royale. Gamers will be able to forward roll dragon punch in titles from Street Fighter's past and present including Street Fighter X Tekken, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Capcom is working together with iam8bit to set up a special Street Fighter 25th Anniversary art exhibition that will feature work from over 50 renowned artists from around the world and will have a grand opening in LA on August 3rd from 7pm to 11pm. Admission to the exhibit will be free so fans in the area or willing to travel will be able to celebrate 25 years of hurricane kicks until the exhibition ends on August 19th. There will also be one night only installations on the opening night such as a real life Bonus Round that puts players in the game.

Capcom has also announced that on their store they will have a Street Fighter 25th Anniversary chess set that places iconic characters from the franchise and puts them in a battle of wits. There will only be 5000 of these sets and the set will retail for $299.95 when released in August. The set contains silver and pewter resin pieces that have protective slots in a wood case and the set features a certificate of authenticity.

Gamers will also be able to preorder Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set on their website for $149.99.

Fans of the Street Fighter franchise have much to look forward to this year and none of it requires actual street fighting either.
