Originally slated for release after SFxT hit the PS Vita later this fall, Capcom today announced that the extra character DLC pack will move up to July 31st. Players who have behaved and waited for Capcom to ring their pockets will have the privilege of paying $19.99 (or 1600 Microsoft points) for twelve "new" characters.

On the Street Fighter side, players will finally have a chance to play Blanka, Dudley, Elena, Sakura, and the Final Fight tandem of Cody and Guy. Fans waiting for their Tekken roster boost will see the additions of Alisa Bosconovitch, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Jack-X, Lei Wulong, and Lars Alexandersson. Capcom also stated that it will steer away from on-disc paid DLC in the future, as the fan reception was overwhelmingly negative.

Along with the character pack, Capcom acknowledged a few issues the competitive community has had with the name. SFxT has suffered from a lot of problems in its time on the market, notably that the timer promotes passive play. Capcom acknowledged the timer issue and stated that they will do something about it, but have yet to state what they will do to combat the problem. Fans of the title can only sit back and wait, and hopefully SFxT will still have a competitive community when Capcom gets around to it.
