Sega is currently in the midst of celebrating its 60th anniversary. Earlier this week, they announced a Sonic crossover with Fall Guys, but they aren't stopping there. Today, they revealed they're mashing up Yakuza with Streets of Rage 2 to bring the world Streets of Kamurocho for a limited time. The game is available on Steam from October 17-19, and it looks phenomenal. Give the trailer a watch below.

Streets of Kamurocho was made through a partnership between Sega and Empty Clip Studios. The short trailer shows Kiryu and Majima fighting together against all kinds of enemies. We can see them wielding different weapons like a bat or a traffic cone. Eagle-eyed viewers might also notice that, at one point, the duo is fighting Nishikiyama. Who, fans of the series will remember as Kiryu's former sworn brother and antagonist from Yakuza 1.

This makes sense, considering the game is set after the Tojo Clan's third chairman was killed. That puts Streets of Kamurocho's timeline right in line with the first Yakuza game. It's worth noting that the screenshots point to there being a third secret character. Fingers crossed for Mr. Libido!

Unfortunately, Sega has decided to take a page out of Nintendo's book and is making this digital release a limited-time thing. You'll only be able to download the game from October 17-19, which is a choice. I'll never understand why you wouldn't want to just let people play this game. It seems like the kind of thing you'd use to bring people into the series, but giving it a limited window just means that's less likely to happen.

Streets of Kamurocho comes to PC from October 17-19. Yakuza: Like a Dragon comes to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on November 10, with the PS5 release coming March 2, 2021.
