A reveal trailer for Streets of Rage 4 has been published by Dotemu and SEGA on YouTube this morning. Streets of Rage 4 will be developed by Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games and features the same art team behind the visuals for Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remake from 2017.

The trailer features returning characters Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding, as well as a female antagonist with a lightning-imbued snake. Some small snippets of gameplay can be seen which shows off the art style and the expected side-scrolling street brawling from the series.

Streets of Rage was a series developed by SEGA for their home console systems throughout the early 1990s, ending with Streets of Rage 3 in 1994. No release date or platform has been given for Streets of Rage 4 as of this announcement and no word on if series composer Yuzo Koshiro will be returning as the trailer's music is done by Kirosen. You can view the reveal trailer below as well as some screenshots released by Lizard Cube.

Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem. Streets of Rage 4 recalls classic gameplay but it stands as an entirely original arcade-style romp thanks to the expertise of Guard Crush Games and Dotemu.
