Streets of Rogue has been in development for more than three and a half years. The game is being made by one man named Matt Dabrowski and is published by tinyBuild. It has been incredibly well-received in early access on PC. And today, Dabrowski and tinyBuild announced the release date for the rogue-lite/immersive sim. Watch the short announce trailer below.

Streets of Rogue is described as a mashup between Binding of Issac and the original Deus Ex. The game takes rogue-lite progression and mixes it with "free-form, experimentation-driven, emergent gameplay". This means that you can play the game however you want. Fancy playing a hyper-intelligent gorilla who frees other gorillas and turns them into his own guerilla army? What about a fast-talker bartender who smooth-talks his way through every situation? This game lets you do that and so much more.

The game also features a completely randomized city for you to play through. This ensures that no two playthroughs will be exactly alike. In addition, SoR has tons and tons of items to customize your loadout. The replayability of this one appears to be absolutely through the roof. And the developer seems committed to continuing to add to the game well after it releases.

SoR also features four-player local and online co-op. The only downside here is that the game does not support cross-play, so if you pick it up on PS4, your friends will need to do the same.

Streets of Rogue is out for Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on July 12.
