Streets of Rogue Developer Looking to Bring Indie Game to Consoles

Indie darling Streets of Rogue is eyeing up a console release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to developer Matt Dabrowski. The roguelite (currently in Early Access) is PC exclusive at the moment, but with a growing following the developer may be looking to push the game to other consoles.

When asked by a fan if there is “any chance you’ll release this for Nintendo Switch, Dabrowski responded:

It’s a major possibility, I’d like to do it (Xbox and Ps4 as well) — need to look further into it, but since SOR is Unity-based, I’m not anticipating major problems on the technical end. Knock wood.

Easy Unity porting is key, because the latest Unity update (5.6) explicitly brought along Nintendo Switch support.

For those out of the loop, Streets of Rogue is a roguelite which claims it is a mix of The Binding of Isaac and Deus Ex. The game is procedurally generated, tasking players to complete a variety of missions in a city.

Streets of Rogue is in Early Access, with no set release date. Check out the game’s action-packed trailer below:
