Earlier this month, Firefly Studios released Stronghold 2: Steam Edition, a remaster of 2005's Stronghold 2, on Steam.

An update for the original game, Stronghold 2: Steam Edition most notably restores the game's multiplayer, which had been absent since GameSpy shuttered, taking said multiplayer support with it. But now it's back, alongside a host of other updates, including: improved visuals, six new maps, Steam Workshop integration, a digital art book and soundtrack, and achievements.

If you already own Stronghold 2 on Steam, then you don't have to worry about a thing, as the update will be dished out to you on-the-house. However, if you don't own the castle-building and siegecraft strategy game on Valve's platform, then you can pick-up the aforementioned Steam edition for $14.99 USD (price calculated before the ongoing 15% discount). Or you can get it for free. Yes, free.

This Friday won't just be any Friday, it will be Free Code Friday on DualShockers. Thus, if you want a copy of Stronghold 2: Steam Edition then be sure to follow our Twitter, where on Friday at 4 p.m. EDT, we will make it rain some codes. It's that simple.
