There doesn’t seem to be a middleground for Bendy and the Ink Machine. Either you have never heard of the style-heavy horror game, or you are up to your neck in Hot Topic t-shirts, YouTube Let’s Plays, and Boris paraphernalia. But if you find yourself in the former category, you can take solace in knowing that the cartoony-yet-terrifying indie game is coming to all current generation home consoles in 2018.

News comes from developer theMeatly in a video (below) titled “BIG BENDY NEWS! :D.” In the video, it is revealed that the indie developer is teaming up with Rooster Teeth Games to bring Bendy and the Ink Machine to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Even better, the game will be out in short order with the current release date slated for this year.

Not much outside of that is known, but that doesn’t make the announcement any less exciting for the passionate fanbase that has supported the game.

For those who have never heard of theMeatly or Bendy and the Ink Machine, the game has carved out a cult-classic status since its release in February 2017. The game is episodic, telling the tale of a shuttered and run-down animation studio that is haunted by iconic cartoons come to life. More impressive to Bendy and the Ink Machine is its unique artstyle, equal parts cartoony and horrifying.

As for Rooster Teeth Games, this isn’t the first time the publisher has taken steps in the console market. After revealing that they would be publishing titles in early 2017, the studio has worked to bring RWBY: Grimm Eclipse to PS4 and Xbox One. On top of that, the studio has assisted in bringing Super Rad Raygun and Battlesloths 2025: The Great Pizza Wars to market.

As mentioned above, Bendy and the Ink Machine is currently available for PC (up to Chapter Three); the game is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
