Last week, we finally saw the new update for Ghost of Tsushima go live. Sucker Punch had previously talked about their plans to bring the new cooperative game mode called Legends to the title later in 2020 and after an anticipating wait for fans, Friday, October 16 update 1.1 took place bringing with it a New Game+ mode and co-op functionality. Some other little nugget of news that may get Ghost of Tsushima lovers heart racing and that's a new job listing that could mean that the studio isn't quite done with its new IP.
A job opening on Sucker Punch's website hints that a sequel or new experience may be on the way for the award-winning title. The studio states that they are looking to hire a new narrative writer, with a specific requirement honed in on a "desire to write stories set in feudal Japan." and "knowledge of feudal Japan history." This does seem likely that Ghost of Tsushima is in line for a possible sequel or hopefully, at the very least, some new content that could include more DLC or maybe even a separate standalone game set in the same world. It would, of course, make absolute sense that the studio would want to continue its success with the title and feed into the need for hungry fans who want more of its beautiful and lush Japanese environments.
Hopefully, we will hear more about what Sucker Punch's plans are in time and as always, we will keep you up to date on any news regarding Ghost of Tsushima.
The PlayStation 5 releases in just a few short weeks and Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on the next-gen console at launch. Sucker Punch recently announced on Twitter that GoT will be able to run with “frame rates up to 60FPS” in addition to having shorter loading times and allow users to transfer their saves from PS4 to PS5. In some other Ghost of Tsushima news, new accessibility options and a new mode, as well as some general bug fixes have allowed players to enjoy the game even more. We’ve also seen the actor Earl T. Kim who plays the role of Norio in Ghost of Tsushima get a little emotional when he spots himself in the game. While streaming the game Kim called out “Look at that dummy! Look at that weirdo bowing.” after taking it all in, Kim emotionally replied, “I’m sorry you guys, this is really cool”.
