The PlayStation Portable isn’t dead yet! Gaijinworks has announced two of their JRPG titles will be coming to the PSP in North America and Europe this year. Summon Night 5 and Class of Heroes 3 may receive a limited physical release run that will include a digital code for those who also own a PlayStation Vita. The physical release and pricing will be based on an upcoming poll. Gaijinworks will be working with Monkey Paw to help localise both titles.
Summon Night 5 is a strategy-RPG that has players choose from two protagonists and one of four partners in the beginning that will change up dialogue based on who you have picked. There is both 2D and 3D art, an isometric perspective that can be adjusted during battles, and animation you expect from BandaiNamco productions.
Class of Heroes 3 is a dungeon crawler and innovates on the series by allowing the player to choose from one of three starting schools. The school choice will change up the visual costumes of the characters and serve as the difficulty setting option. There is an Affinity system allowing for positive and negative relationships between other characters, and the dungeons have some ambient music playing as you explore.
Both games are set to release later this year digitally with a physical release to be determined. You can find screenshots of each game and prototype box art below.
