If there’s anything that Sunset Overdrive revels in more, it’s the frenetic, cartoony, and colorful action that permeates the world of Sunset City. Luckily, the latest developer diary for the upcoming Xbox One exclusive shows that the craziness won’t just be contained to the game’s single-player mode.

After being first announced at E3 2014, developer Insomniac Games released a new developer diary video that takes a closer look into the eight-player Chaos Squad mode of the upcoming Sunset Overdrive, and what to expect from the game’s online co-op based gameplay.

Featuring players across the open world of Sunset City, Chaos Squad pits eight players in two phases of play: morning missions that players complete of their own choosing, followed shortly after by nighttime missions where players must defend against oncoming waves of enemy Scabs. Insomniac also details that the enemy forces faced in the nighttime missions will be affected by the players’ accomplishments during the daytime segments of the game.

Sunset Overdrive releases on October 28th, 2014 exclusively for Xbox One – in the meantime, you can check out more on what to expect from Chaos Squad mode in the latest developer diary below:
