At this rate, Mercedes Benz is vying to become as canon as Yoshi in the Mario universe. According to a recent press release, Nintendo and Mercedes Benz have teamed up (again) to bring free Mercedes content to a Mario game -- Super Mario Maker. Previously, Nintendo and Mercedes collaborated by offering free Mercedes Benz DLC in Mario Kart 8; a move that was weird at best and jarring at worst.

Now, players can access the Mercedes "Jump'n'Drive" level by heading to the Event Courses tab in Course World (much like the Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam and Frog Suit updates). As always, downloading the level is free to everyone who has the base game. The level itself was crafted Mercedes Benz to feature the thrills of buying a new Mercedes:

The new Super Mario Maker Event Course was created by Mario fans at Mercedes-Benz who were inspired by the GLA’s appearance inMario Kart 8 and wanted to build a level with Mario taking the GLA on a road trip. The Mercedes-Benz Event Course takes players through a variety of automotive-related areas, including being at the dealership, taking a test drive through a city and eventually cruising down the autobahn.

Completing the event course will award you with a Mercedes GLA costume, featuring Mario driving a Mercedes GLA. I have to admit, the advertisement is a little odd, and slightly more out of place than in Mario Kart. While I rarely argue about free content, this does leave a strange taste in my mouth.
