Today, Nintendo announced -- via Nintendo of America's Twitter account -- that Android users can now pre-register to download its latest mobile game phenomena: Super Mario Run.

A specific release date for the Android version still hasn't been divulged, but by pre-registering via Google Play, users can enable themselves to receive a notification when the Mario auto-runner becomes available.

As one would guess -- and as the Google Play listing confirms -- just like for the iOS version, players will be able to download the a smaller sample of the game for free, while the full game, or as Nintendo dubs it "Unlimited Access" will cost $10. Also like the iOS version, the game on Android devices will require an internet connection to play.

In other recent and related news, Nintendo revealed back on December 23rd, that the game had surpassed 50 million downloads. For the DualShocker official review of the game, where we awarded it a 8.0 and called it "strong first step," you can click here.
