Super Nintendo World is somewhere many of us will no doubt dream of visiting. The Nintendo based theme park, which is located at Universal Studios Japan, was first revealed to the world back in 2016. The park is set to feature plenty of “attractions based on many Nintendo titles.”Whilst originally, pre-pandemic, the park was due to open in Spring 2020, Super Nintendo World, like many other things, was unfortunately delayed by the Coronavirus and the park's opening was postponed indefinitely. Since the initial news, Nintendo had given us no indication of when the theme park would be opening. Until now.Confirmed on Twitter by Universal Studios Japan and then the official Nintendo Twitter accounts, the park is due to open in "Early 2021!"

Alongside confirmation of the park's opening window, both Universal Studios and Nintendo shared a little more information on a new attraction. The Mario Cafe and Store will be opening ahead of the main area of the park on October 16 and will be featured in the Hollywood region of Universal Studios Japan. The cafe will sell a range of Super Mario themed foods and drinks, including special pancake sandwiches and cream sodas.

Nintendo and Universal Studios have previously confirmed that the park would feel like "a life-size, living video game where you could become one of the characters,” and “You’re not just playing the game; you’re living the game, you’re living the adventure." Attendees to the park will be given wristbands which can be used to collect virtual coins around the park as well as character stamps. The wristbands will also be used to complete parkwide challenges in which attendees will come together to defeat bosses.

So far, within Super Nintendo World, we've seen images of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle, as well as a look at the Mario Kart ride in a promotional video. Here's hoping for some more awesome surprises in the lead up to the park's opening.
