Super Smash Bros. Director Masahiro Sakurai Details Mewtwo DLC is Coming "Pretty Soon"

Though Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U has been keeping Nintendo fans smashing since both versions’ releases back in fall of last year, a bonus character, the return of the infamous Mewtwo, is nearly upon us and those looking to add some psychic doses of smash to their gameplay won’t have too much longer to wait, according to game director Masahiro Sakurai.

Speaking at an event in Japan recently, Sakurai addressed the upcoming Mewtwo DLC for both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the most recent entry in the Super Smash Bros. series, detailing that the development team is “pretty much done” with developing Mewtwo and that the character should be releasing “pretty soon.”

Originally announced last year on the heels of both the 3DS and Wii U versions releasing, the Mewtwo DLC will be available free to anyone that registers both versions of the game on Club Nintendo by March 31st, 2015, while the character will also be made available as paid DLC at a later time.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U is currently available now – the Mewtwo DLC will be releasing shortly in Spring 2015.
