Since its launch in October of this year, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS has been...well...smashing records all over the place, as the latest sales data from Nintendo shows that it's been a great year to be a fan of Smash Bros., especially if you're a 3DS owner.

Nintendo detailed that since the title's launch in October, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS has reached 1.2 million in sales across both digital and retail copies in the US, with the game's sales coming in at 485,000 units just within the game's first month of release.

In addition, Nintendo revealed that the sales f or the 3DS iteration of Super Smash Bros. have also put it as the 10th Nintendo 3DS title to break over one million in sales, and also placing the game as the best-selling handheld title to release in 2014. Current record holders for the top-selling titles on 3DS are Mario Kart 7 at 3.62 million units in the US, followed closely in second place by Super Mario 3D Land at 3.34 million units.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is currently available now, with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to release on November 21st, 2014.
