Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Adds Fire Emblem Three Houses' Protagonist
Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses is the last character of the first Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter pass.
Nintendo announced in today’s Smash Direct that the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, both the male and female version, is the newest playable character in Super Smash. Bros Ultimate.
Byleth will launch on January 28 for 5.99$, and is the final fighter of the first DLC Fighters Pass, following Joker from Persona 5, the Dragon Quest Hero, Banjo & Kazooie, and SNK’s Terry Bogard.
This is a pretty obvious choice seeing whenever a new main Fire Emblem game is released, their protagonist has been systematically added to Super Smash Bros. Fire Emblem: Three Houses, in particular, became the highest-selling game in the franchise a few months after its worldwide launch in July 2019. It also got into DualShockers’ best 50 games of the 2010-2019 decade after a heated debate between it and Fire Emblem Awakening. The pretty hilarious introduction trailer for Byleth, parodying one of the coolest scenes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, is included below. The stream introducing the character’s moveset with Sakurai is still ongoing.
