Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Receiving a Video Presentation Tuesday Focusing on Dragon Quest XI's Hero

The release date for Dragon Quest XI's Hero DLC for Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be announced later this week.

July 28, 2019

Today, Nintendo of America announced on Twitter that there will be a video presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the past, Nintendo traditionally releases news regarding Smash Bros through a direct, but this time it will be different. The presentation will take place this Tuesday, July 30 at 6 am PT. Franchise director Masahiro Sakurai will host the video showcasing a 22-minute demo. The demo will focus on the new upcoming DLC fighter Hero from the Dragon Quest franchise. Back in June at E3, both Hero and Banjo-Kazooie were shown as the next two DLC characters for the game.

During the presentation, Sakurai will announce the release date for Hero. With this being a relatively new way of showing off new details for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I am curious if there will be a big surprise at some point as last-minute announcements are synonymous with this series. Personally, I’d love to get an idea of who the fourth DLC character will be after Banjo, though it is unlikely Nintendo will announce that.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate unsurprisingly has been a smashing success for Nintendo and likely won’t be stopping any time soon. The game hasn’t even been out for a year and it is already the third best selling title on the platform selling 13.81 million copies (as of March 31). It has also broken the record for being the best selling fighting game of all time.

The timing of this presentation makes sense as we are less than a week away from EVO. There is sure to be new information regarding numerous different fighting games and we will be sure to update you as soon as it comes out.
