Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Adding New Items and Assist Trophies; Includes Monster Hunter, Shovel Knight, and More

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is not just adding new characters, but also adding in plenty of new Items and Assist Trophies with some surprises.

During todayâ€™sÂ Nintendo Direct forÂ Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, series director Masahiro Sakurai revealed a slew of the new Items, Pokemon, and Assist Trophies that players can expect to utilize in battles against players.

New Items coming to the game that were shown during the Direct includeÂ Castlevania's Death Scythe, while EarthboundÂ is getting a new Item in the form of the Ramblin' Evil Mushroom. Likewise, new Pokemon in the game's Pokeballs were confirmed such as Mimkyu, Alolan Exeggutor, and some returning favorites from past games such as Vulpix.

Alongside Items and Pokeball Assists, the Direct also revealed several new Assist Trophies that players can call on for help, including some notable new faces like Shovel Knight, Rathalos from theÂ Monster Hunter series, and The Moon fromÂ The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Super Smash Bros. UltimateÂ will release for Nintendo Switch on December 7th, 2018. If you have yet to pick up a copy of the game,Â you can head over to AmazonÂ and pre-order the game right now before its release this holiday season.
