During today’s Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, series director Masahiro Sakurai revealed a slew of the new Items, Pokemon, and Assist Trophies that players can expect to utilize in battles against players.

New Items coming to the game that were shown during the Direct include Castlevania's Death Scythe, while Earthbound is getting a new Item in the form of the Ramblin' Evil Mushroom. Likewise, new Pokemon in the game's Pokeballs were confirmed such as Mimkyu, Alolan Exeggutor, and some returning favorites from past games such as Vulpix.

Alongside Items and Pokeball Assists, the Direct also revealed several new Assist Trophies that players can call on for help, including some notable new faces like Shovel Knight, Rathalos from the Monster Hunter series, and The Moon from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will release for Nintendo Switch on December 7th, 2018. If you have yet to pick up a copy of the game, you can head over to Amazon and pre-order the game right now before its release this holiday season.
