It's been a while since we had any news on the next addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. The second Fighter Pass was announced back in January, however, since then we've only received news of one additional fighter. The first character from the second Fighter Pass was revealed to be from ARMS back in March, before being confirmed as Min Min this June. Since then, however, silence. That was until today, as the official Nintendo Twitter account has confirmed that the next DLC fighter will be revealed in a special presentation tomorrow. The presentation will only last three minutes, as opposed to the longer deep dives we have seen more recently, and will take place at 7am PT/ 10am ET/ 3pm BST.

Following the presentation, we will be getting a short message from the game's director, Masahiro Sakurai. This message is likely to give us an update on the development of the characters in the Fighter Pass. Sakurai has previously confirmed that the development of these characters has been difficult due to the impacts of the current pandemic.

The second Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass will contain six brand new fighters, with five left to be revealed. However, Sakurai has confirmed that after these six, there will be no additional characters coming to the game. After everybody has been added, the roster will be at more than 80 different fighters.

Alongside Min Min from Fighters Pass 2, we've had Joker from Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest, Banjo from Banjo Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses as DLC characters.

As always, when an event like this is announced the Twitter rumour mill starts turning, with Geno, Crash Bandicoot (Crash Bandicoot 4  is released the day after this event) and Steve from Minecraft as some of the most popular picks today.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now for Nintendo Switch.
